Dr. Michael Brownstein will be attending the Mazzoni Center's 7th Annual Trans-Health Conference in Philadelphia, PA on Thursday, May 29, 2008. He will present the topic "Breast Reconstruction Options for Female to Male Patients". Dr. Brownstein will be available for consultations during this conference.

A graduate of the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine,
Dr. Brownstein received general surgery training at
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California and the
University of New Mexico. After an additional two years of specialty
training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University
of California San Francisco Medical Center, he opened his practice
in 1975. He is well published in his area of expertise including
microsurgical, plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Brownstein is a member of national plastic surgery organizations
and societies including the American Society of Plastic Surgery
(ASPS) and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He
is also a member of WPATH (formerly HBIGDA) and currently serves on
the Board of Directors, as Chairman of the Ethics Committee, and is a member of the Standards of Care Committee.
Surgery is performed at state of the art San Francisco surgical facilities
assisted by staff familiar with the procedures and sensitive to
the unique needs and concerns of his patients. Dr. Brownstein
has privileges at acute care hospitals in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Dr. Brownstein frequently lectures at gender related conferences.
While at these conferences, he routinely makes himself available
for complimentary consultations to address your individual needs
and suggest a surgical technique beneficial to conference attendees.
Periodically, this web site will present topics
in surgery which may be of value to Dr. Brownstein's current and prospective
patients as they consider their surgical options and attempt
to maximize the cosmetic and functional results of their surgery.
He will endeavor to present a new topic on a quarterly
